Minor addition: the line that @signed-me-again translated as “does the honors” could be translated more literally as “practices ventriloquism,” which I’m sure most folks could guess because “practica ventriloquia” is cognate with it lol, but I just wanted to point it out because it’s a really sinister and powerful metaphor.
“Practica ventriloquia” doesn’t appear in the Spanish, though? The relevant phrase is “lanza la voz,” which is, as far as I can tell, a lot more ambiguous.
I’m not saying I didn’t take liberties with it, but I’m not seeing what you’re mentioning.

if you hated pink and/or blue as a kid because of the forced implication of rigid gendering of things that you knew you didn’t want to be a part of and as a kid you took it out on the colour but were able to embrace the colour(s) divorced from the bullshit as you grew up and were able to make your own choices about colour and now feel much more free to like pink and/or blue clap your hands
