i think my saddest moment as an Australian was finding out that the rest of the world doesn’t say “never eat soggy weetbix” to figure out the order of the compass
Put in the tags where you’re from and how you memorized the order of the compass
i’m a visual learner, i just picture the map.
mine was close, it was “never eat soggy worms”
a protip for life!
mine was a long and embarrassing singalong that involved butt slaps
bunjy, please. we have to know the rest
also mine was “never eat shredded wheat”
alright well when bitty bunjy was back in grade school, the teacher taught us a fun little song and dance routine to remember the cardinal directions and we all loathed it. it definitely involved some enthusiastic butt-slapping and I will likely remember it until I die.
here it is, in its entirety:
(must be sung somberly, to the tune of ‘the ants go marching one by one’)
The sun is rising in the East, the East, the East
(slowly lift right arm in an arc until it’s pointing straight up)
The sun is rising in the East, the East, the East!
My Nose is North, (tap your nose)
My Seat is South (GIVE YOURSELF A BIG OL HONKIN BUTT SLAP)
And now I turn myself about, (do a slow spin)
The sun is rising in the East, the East, the East
But where is West?
it wasn’t in the song and when we asked the teacher why he pretended like he didn’t hear us
