I found what looks to me like a fossilized phalanx of a deer or some shit the other day. I did the lick test and it stuck, so possibly a fossil??? Who’s to say.

Anyhow, if any of you aren’t aware, licking a possible fossil is how you determine bone from rock. If your tongue sticks, it’s probably bone. It’s a really thing real archaeologists do. My Southeastern US professor from college, who’s like the biggest name in his field, assured us it works. Because I’m a dork I’ve screenshotted that post from @midnightmindcave from however long ago because it makes my little nerd heart happy.
