are u telling me that splash mountain didn’t have lap bars for nearly 20 years, that that the disneyland one doesn’t have them at all??? hello????
this ride has a fifty foot drop how do you not go flying out
i grew up in orlando so i’m kind of an expert on this! the trick is that you do go flying out a lot of the time, it happened to me a few times! you never see it happen when you’re watching the ride from ground level bc the drop goes so fast your brain just smooths it over bc you’re not expecting to see it happen. the human mind is incredible 😮
of course it never shows up in the on ride photos bc disney cast members are really good at pulling them super fast if theyre “objectionable”, thats how they keep pics where women flash their tiddies at the camera from showing up too (snopes link for ‘flash mountain’, interesting read, nsfw links off the page)
tbh it’s super safe, there’s stuntperson-grade padding all down the sides of the drop, it’s easiest to see if you look to the side right before the photos are snapped you can see it right by the emergency exit ramps. of course it’s all super well themed and disguised as mountainous rock, disney is so so so good at themeing. honestly it’s no big deal lmao, you just bounce out of the boat, a cast member immediately comes to walk you down the emergency exit ramps, and your whole party is given fastpasses for a different ride lmaoooo
@katherine-rose yeah lmao! it’s honestly not as bad as it sounds, disney’s pretty good on safety i swear. they try to keep it quiet but like now in the age of the internet it’s kind of hard to keep it under wraps.
